Anyone know good platforms for DeFi game ads?

I’ve been digging around lately trying to figure out something that seems simple but actually isn’t — where people promote DeFi games. Every time I search for advice about Defi game advertising, I mostly find super polished blog posts or marketing pages that sound more like sales pitches than real experiences.

So I figured I’d ask in a more honest way: where do people actually advertise DeFi games in a way that works? Not the theory, but the real stuff people have tried.

Pain Point

The main issue I ran into is that most ad platforms don’t seem very friendly toward crypto or blockchain gaming projects. Either they restrict the ads completely or they make the approval process feel like you’re applying for a bank loan.

At first I tried the usual big ad platforms everyone talks about. But a lot of them either rejected the campaign or limited what could be said about the game. Even when ads got approved, the traffic didn’t feel very relevant. People clicking didn’t really understand DeFi, NFTs, or play-to-earn mechanics.

That’s when it hit me: maybe the problem wasn’t the ad itself. Maybe it was the platform. Advertising a DeFi game to a general audience is kind of like explaining crypto wallets to someone who just wanted to watch cat videos.

Personal Test and Insight

So I started experimenting a bit and looking for places that actually focus on crypto audiences. Forums, crypto blogs, blockchain gaming communities, and ad networks that deal with crypto projects specifically.

One thing I noticed pretty quickly is that niche crypto traffic behaves very differently. Even with smaller numbers, the engagement was way better. People already understood things like tokens, staking, or wallet connections, so they were more curious about the game itself.

While researching, I also came across discussions about crypto-focused ad networks and platforms built specifically for blockchain projects. That seemed to make more sense than trying to force a DeFi campaign onto a platform that mainly serves regular apps and ecommerce ads.

During this process I stumbled across a page talking about Defi game advertising and it helped me understand how some crypto campaigns are actually structured. It wasn’t so much about “running ads everywhere,” but more about finding audiences already interested in Web3 or crypto gaming.

What Actually Seemed to Work

From what I’ve seen so far, a few approaches seem to work better than others.

1. Crypto focused ad networks

These tend to perform better simply because the audience is already familiar with blockchain topics. Even if the traffic is smaller, it feels more targeted.

2. Blockchain gaming websites

Banner placements or sponsored content on crypto gaming sites seem to attract players who are actively looking for new games.

3. Community driven promotion

Forums, Discord servers, and crypto discussion spaces can bring surprisingly engaged users. It’s slower than paid ads but sometimes the players you get are way more active.

My Take So Far

I’m definitely still learning, but my biggest takeaway is this: Defi game advertising works best when the audience already understands crypto. Trying to advertise to completely new users might bring traffic, but it rarely brings actual players.

Instead of chasing the biggest ad platform, it seems smarter to focus on crypto-friendly spaces where blockchain gaming already makes sense. The campaigns may be smaller, but they tend to attract people who are actually interested in trying the game.

Anyway, that’s just what I’ve noticed so far. I’m curious what others here have tried. Have you had better luck with specific crypto ad networks, gaming sites, or communities.
