Artificial trees vs. real plants for home offices?

I'm setting up a home office and debating whether to get a real plant or a high-quality artificial tree. I love the idea of a real one for the air-purifying benefits, but I'm not great at keeping them alive. Is a good artificial tree a worthy investment for the long term? Do they really look realistic enough to provide that same "calming" effect?
