Q: How can the audience ask questions during my virtual panel?
A: Click on "Element" in the menu and select "Insert Element" to add an audience question board, where people can submit questions. You can also add a "Click to Join" slot if you'd like audience members to come on screen to ask their questions. (Import the "Tuchinksi Auditorium" from the Room Gallery to see a great example of "Click to Join" slots).
Q: Why can't I make buttons work in Creator Mode?
A: Switch into Director Mode by holding alt/option. Director Mode is helpful for testing out elements such as buttons and chat boxes; Creator Mode is for editing those elements.
Q: What are the ideal video requirements to display a pre-recorded video in ohyay?
A: We recommend that your video use the mp4 format, encoded using h264 for the video and aac for the audio, with a bitrate at most 3.5 megabits/second. The UI only allows a 2GB maximum upload size, but contact us at [email protected] if you'd like us to upload something bigger to your space.
Q: Is there a way to play a video so that all participants are watching at the same time?
A: Yes - just hide the controls in the web media settings and manually play when you're ready for the video to start.
Q: Is there a way to clear the workspace and room chats?
A: In edit mode select any chat element. Scroll down to the very bottom of the right panel; you will see two buttons, the first one clears all chats everywhere in the space, the second clears just that one chat (you can also make an action button to invoke these if you wish).
Q: Is it possible for non-admin users to edit text objects?
A: Yes - use the Enable User Editing setting.
Q: How do I add PNG's to the backpack?
A: You can create an image element and then mark it as Takeable. Then participants will be able to add it to their backpacks. If you want multiple takeable copies, you can use Take Clone.
Q: Is there a way to schedule a video to play in a room?
A: There is a Scheduled Start Times property on the video element that you can use.
Q: Is there a way to corner pin participant elements to match the perspective of an object, or is the only way to do that to tweak the X, Y, and Z rotations until it matches?
A: If you select the object and hold the 'D' key, a different set of re-sizers will appear that allow you to manually adjust the transform.
